Al spent the last 55 years in the insurance business. His experience in business and personal life insurance planning has helped hundreds of clients develop financial and estate plans.
He is a member of Million Dollar Round Table, Los Angeles and National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and South Bay Estate Planning Council. He is also past Director of E.L.A.R., a reinsurance company, past President and current board member of the Richstone Family Center, a non-profit organization for battered and abused children.
Presently, Al is Director for Reading International, Inc., a publicly held corporation which was a holding company in 1995 for Fidelity Federal Savings and Loan. Reading is now one of the largest holders of commercial real estate in Australia and New Zealand. Last but not the least; he is Director for the John Gogian Family Foundation, a California non-profit public benefit corporation.
Tom has over 42 years of benefits experience with large multi-state national accounts as well as small privately owned partnerships and corporations.
His background includes being past President of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nevada, Executive Director of Lincoln National Health Plan HMO for Southern California, Director or HMO/PPO Provider Network Development for American Medical International (AMI) Hospitals, Inc. and Benefits Consultant for MECER, Inc. He also served as a registered lobbyist for the insurance industry.
This diverse background allows him to consult with his clients over a broad range of benefit issues. Tom earned a Bachelor’s degree from California State University in Los Angeles.
Eileen has 15 years of experience in customer relations and employee benefits. Prior to joining our agency, Eileen was the Group Benefits Manager for an insurance agency in Pasadena. She has been involved in the entire group benefits process from helping clients select products that appropriately fit their needs to conducting enrollments and assisting employees with client service issues.
Terri has 18 year of experience in the insurance industry. She has been with Unisure for 7 years. She assists in all aspects of our business including marketing, accounting and client service.
Prior to joining Unisure, she worked as a health claims auditor for an insurance company in Oklahoma. She holds her life and health agent’s license.
Anne has over 20 years of benefits and sales experience with Unisure Insurance Services and the Thomas Group. She has extensive background in all types of life insurance, annuities and employee benefits.
Anne is licensed to sell all forms of life and health insurance including variable and universal life products. She is pursuing her Chartered Life Underwriter designation.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and International Relations from San Diego State University. Anne is raising two boys with her husband, Roman. She is also deeply involved in raising money for the Richstone Family Center in Hawthorne, CA.
Mr. Keowen began his insurance career as a group representative for Occidental Life. From 1973-80 he served as a consultant and managing consultant for the Los Angeles office of William M. Mercer; where he managed a broad range of employers from small groups to Fortune 500 companies. From 1980-84, he served as a senior officer of Transamerica Occidental Life where he created and marketed alternate funded group plans. At Transamerica, he managed the coverage for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
From 1984-94 Mr. Keowen worked for General American life for 5 years as regional sales manager in Los Angeles and 5 years in St. Louis Missouri where he ran the pooled risk and long term disability product lines. From 1994-1998, he managed the group sales for nine western states for Provident Life.
Since 1998, he has been a principal of Garner Consulting and recently of Unisure Insurance Services. He has served on the Group and pension marketing committee of the Life Insurance Marketing Research Association in Hartford, CT. He is a member of the Los Angeles Benefit Association and the Orange County Benefit Association. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge.
Sylvia has over 40 years of Employee Benefits experience. Her background includes sales, service and administrative positions with Cal-Western Life Insurance Company, American General Group Insurance Company and Anthem Life. She has also worked in the individual lines of insurance with Pacific Life and Cal-Western Life.
She has been employed at the Thomas Group and Unisure since 1994. Sylvia acquired the FLMI designation (Fellow, Life Management Institute) in 1984 and she holds her life and health producer license.
Michelle has 10 years of experience in accounting and customer service. Prior to joining our agency, Michelle was busy raising her two children. She came to Unisure in May of 2005 and assists in all aspects of our business, including customer service, clerical work, commissions and client relations. She graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills with a BS degree.
